BOARD OF STEWARDSHIP

Stewardship means “belonging to God" - all that we are and all that we have comes from God. Through stewardship, our church members donate their resources, time, and talents to achieve Peace’s mission to “Share Christ, Serve Community and to Grow Disciples”.

Many volunteer their time to be Assisting Ministers, Teachers, Readers, Communion Assistants, Acolytes, Ushers, Video, and Audio Technicians, members of the Altar Guild, offering counters, and Choir Members to name just a few. Many others serve on the boards and committees to keep the church running smoothly.

The congregation’s financial donations allow us to support the Southern Ohio Synod and ELCA and special appeals for victims of hurricanes, earthquakes and famine.  Closer to home your benevolence helps Christ Lutheran Church in Old North Dayton continue to serve local residents near that church both spiritually and with a monthly community meal. We host blood drives, scouts, youth dance squad practices, abuse recovery groups, Toast Masters, an oil-change ministry and many other activities.

Our Pastors are also stewards to all church members from their first to their last breath and at every major step in between.  This includes bringing new souls to Christ through Baptism, teaching the youth about Christ through Sunday School and

Confirmation, involvement in Christ-centered activities including Vacation Bible School, Youth Activities and community outreach.  Disciples are also grown through pre-marriage counseling and weddings, hospital visitations and by helping the terminally ill pass into the arms of a loving God and let us not forget – our regular church services.

The mission of the Board of Stewardship is to encourage members to share their spiritual gifts and income to support the work of the congregation and the larger Christian church in service to God’s people. The Board of Stewardship distributes the congregation’s benevolence.
